CHRISTINE NORMAN - A LIFE WELL LIVED

CHRISTINE NORMAN - "A Lover of people"

JUNE 2021

We are sorry to announce that Christine Norman, our National Representative in Liberia since 2002, has passed away. Everyone who met her will never forget her energy, enthusiam and deep love of God.  She was the daughter of the former president of Liberia, William R Tolbert Jr., and had been forced to flee with her family when he was murdered in 1980 in a coup d'état.

In 2003, Dr. Stephen and Judy King (one of our Board members) introduced over 100 community leaders, pastors, teachers and government officials in Monrovia, Ghana and Guinea to Freedom in Christ. After this Christine actively continued training and using the Steps To Freedom In Christ to encourage, help and heal the tragic victims of civil conflicts in West Africa.

Christine also leaves a great legacy from the work she did with REAP (Restoration of Educational Advancement Programs) which she founded with the Freedom in Christ message at the centre of the program.

Moving on a few years, Christine invited Neil Anderson, Clay Bergen and Judith King in 2011 to Monrovia to conduct a large pastors’ conference, a youth event, and a women’s seminar. These events were eagerly appreciated and added encouragement and strength to the ongoing Freedom In Christ ministry in West Africa. Christine always proclaimed, "To God be the glory, great things He has done.

"Steve Goss says, "Christine was one of the first people I got to know in Freedom In Christ and I always loved meeting her and laughing with her. She was always so full of fun and the joy of the Lord. She brought so much to Freedom in Christ and had boundless enthusiam to share what she had received in her own life so joyfully with others. Our thoughts are with her dear husband Lawrence and her children and grandchildren."

Judy King (pictured with Christine), who has been a close friend since her trips to Liberia said, "Christine was loved by so many people around the world because she was a lover of people."
